A five star hotel, serviced apartments and high rise residential form a striking topographical citadel.
Carve sets an urban stage by creating a carved citadel, a topography that creates an instantly recognisable place for living with low rise/low density housing to the side. The five star hotel, residential towers and the individual homes all enjoy the same carved forms of different scales and functions, the individual buildings feel as though they have been hewn from a large piece of rock giving a sense of permanence, cohesion and spatial tension. The serviced apartments and apartments are carved from the hill with materiality and landscape of a glacial scale.
Carve is expressive of its form and creation through its materiality. The individual buildings of the hotel, serviced apartments and apartment blocks are carved from granite of two types. A bush hammered granite that sucks light, and a polished granite that reflects light.
