Slot House / The City

Two warehouse apartments one on top of the other were acquired by the client. The proposals connect the two levels, reducing two properties to one. A 7m high wall of storage and use visually links the two levels reconfiguring the two separate spaces into a single volume for living. Bedroom spaces and living spaces are treated in a similar fashion establishing a variable space where the home can be used as three bedroom + large living space or several living spaces.

A glazed and mirrored slot composes a visual grand hall in front of the element, inventing a light and spacious experience when moving around the home, challenging the usual enclosed interior circulation spaces within such forms into a primary loci.

The central storage wall and slot as well as creating continuity in section splits the plan between primary and tertiary spaces, bathrooms, entrance spaces and a linear stair are located to the rear and living spaces enjoy light and evening sun from the large north west facing windows.

The central units are formed from stainless steel channels and aluminium clad doors. A basalt floor and white glass folded kitchen complete the composition.
