SOCIAL
In the end, we would all rather be outside.
Coffey Architects is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of our work, including our volunteering efforts. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities and experience the benefits they provide, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Our social agenda reinforces the Coffey Design process, Environmental Strategy and resulting architecture by engaging with the great and small outdoors. Supporting local communities engaged in greening the city and air quality through to global organisations that care for the wider environment, its ecosystems and landscapes. We learn through our reciprocal relationships towards a healthier planet and healthier inhabitants.
We support and engage with:
Social Enterprise UK
The Woodland Trust
London Wildlife Trust
The Conservation Volunteers
London National Park City
Spitalfields City Farm
Norfolk Wildlife Trust
The Nature Conservancy
Rainforest Alliance
World Wildlife Fund
Community involvement
We encourage community involvement, volunteering and participation in the design and planning process, to ensure that the green spaces and nature preserves are accessible and enjoyable for all members of the community.
Education and learning
We integrate outdoor activities offering employees training, resources, and volunteer opportunties to engage with diverse communities and cultures. We also partner with educational organisations to provide mentorship and skill-building opportunities for under represented youth via outdoor activities. This approach promotes community well-being but also personal development and well-being for our colleagues.
Encouraging diversity
Coffey promotes diversity by supporting and engaging with diverse communities that promote outdoor activities, encouraging employee participation in volunteering, and fostering a more inclusive workplace culture.
External collaboration
Coffey expand our internal social policy by collaborating with other sectors to create a cohesive and sustainable approach to greening cities. This includes working with urban planners to design and implement green infrastructure, partnering with parks and recreation departments to create accessible and inclusive outdoor spaces, and engaging with environmental groups to promote sustainable practices and conservation efforts.
